About Arizona Festivals

Our Mission

From the Arizona Festivals Team

At Arizona Festivals, our mission is to spread our love of special events to those who want to get involved with the local community. This page offers information, reviews, reminders and advice for festivals in the valley. Our site features all types of media in order to draw in readers and viewers to get them excited about festivals.

When most people hear the word festival, they can think of music or food. What most people do not think is that festivals can actually encapsulate an entire culture. Some festivals in Arizona have been in celebration of Japanese, Chinese or Hawaiian culture. Food and music is presented, but there is so much more done to transport the visitors straight to the location being celebrated.

Many of our festivals are centered in Phoenix because of the wide variety of venues the city offers. It is also an amazing place with an abundance of culture and art. However, we did not want to limit ourselves to a single city so we decided to open it up to all of Arizona. This allows us to provide a bigger variety of festivals geographically in the hopes of being able to provide information for a festival near all of our readers.

Festivals have been going on and celebrated for years. They are a part of many religions and social gatherings in order to bring light into our lives. It is an opportunity to rejoice with friends and family, meet new people, share ideas and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

Part of the amazing dynamic of this team is that some of the contributors are from Arizona and some are not. This allows the new natives to shine light on some of the great culture while others are experiencing it for the first time just like some of our great readers will be. Whether you are from Arizona and are in need of new activities to explore or if you are new and wanting to be introduced to Arizona events, our blog has the information for you. Join us in our exploration of the festivals of Arizona!

What We're Looking Forward To: Lost Lake Festival

by Dayle Marie and Caitlynn McDaniel

The Lost Lake Festival is coming to Arizona this October and it’s going to be huge. “Festival season” kicks off each year in April with Coachella in Indio California.

The Lost Lake festival happens towards the end of the season, but that’s what makes it so unique and perfect for Phoenix, known for its hot weather.

“There have been other small festivals and concerts in Arizona before, but nothing like this. I’m so happy it will be in October because it should not be too hot then so I won’t burn like I have at others,” said Arizona State University student Ashley Sutherland.

The festival comes from Superfly, who helped create some of the biggest names on the festival scene like Bonnaroo and Outside Lands putting Arizona on the map as a music festival destination.

Arizona has been home to much lower-profile music festivals, but has so much to offer in terms of culture. Phoenix is known for its eclectic art scene and local art will be a big part of the festival.

Many of the music festivals in Arizona focus on specific genres, but the Lost Lake Festival is a diverse mix of acts and musical genres including rap, hip-hop, indie and electronic music.

Some of the bigger names coming to the festival include The Killers, Chance the Rapper, Major Lazer and Odesza.

“I tried buying the early bird tickets and so many people were buying them that the site crashed. I got the tier price which is still a good deal for the amount of artists that are going to be there,” said Sutherland.

The festival will take place over 3 days from October 20-22, and includes VIP and General Admission options for ticket purchases.
